DOA : Starting Point for Request Alteration & Repair Design - Cargo Conversion

Abstract:

When the aircraft has completed its operational service as a passenger plane, the aircraft can be continued tenure back in different segments. Conversion of passenger aircraft into cargo planes, is a way to extend the economic life of the aircraft. Some airlines choose to re-operate aircraft that has been converted into a cargo plane, so it's back to give economic value to the company without purchase new cargo planes.

Design of modifying passenger aircraft into cargo planes has been conducted by GMF Design Organization Approval (DOA) by paying attention to flight safety regulations. The revamped aircraft is Fokker F27 MK050 (Fokker 50). The basic concept of this conversion modification starts from the filing of the initial design proposed by GMF DO to the DGCA, the proposed design and analysis covering the structural design to strengthen the floor of the plane, change of aircraft cabin interior and smoke detection systems as well as electrical. DGCA will review, examine the regulatory aspects and compliance with safety requirements and cooperate with GMF DOA to determine the final configuration is best suited to keep the Airworthiness.
